Toñita Escamilla

I joined Bloom365 because I wanted the opportunity to share my knowledge and empathy with other populations and expand my social work skills. I wanted the opportunity to work with a grassroots organization that not only provides true trauma informed care to its clients, but also employees.

Marisol Rodriguez
Program Manager, Youth Victim Services

To help amplify and empower youth that have experienced interpersonal violence specifically those that come from underserved communities.

Marisol Rodriguez is our Program Manager for Youth Victim Services, and she provides trauma-informed individual advocacy for any young person ages 11-24 that has experienced primary or secondary interpersonal violence. She also oversees and manages our HelpLine.

She also attended Northern Arizona University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in English with a minor in Philosophy. With plans of originally pursuing a career in law, her journey took a turn when she began volunteering with Chicanos Por La Causa at their community centers located in Maryvale and South Phoenix. While there she noticed the overwhelming need for support in the community and decided that she wanted to be apart of the change.

Marisol went on to serve survivors of sexual and/or domestic violence at Chicanos Por La Causa’s De Colores program for four years. While there she worked with a primarily Latinx and solely Spanish speaking community where she provided culturally specific services including: case management, lay legal advocacy, safety planning, housing advocacy, and emotional support.

Her years of experience in serving survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence allows her to implement her understanding of survivor-centered services to empower our youth in breaking the cycle of violence.

Harshitha
LPA and Teen Spokesperson

The idea of prevention appealed to me! It was inspiring to see a movement focused on education.

Hi! I’m Harshitha and I am an LPA and Teen Spokesperson with BLOOM365. I am a senior at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, AZ. I’ve been involved with this organization for 4 years now and I am passionate about advocacy and youth empowerment. I love to bake and read in my free time. A few fun facts about me are that I am a black belt in taekwondo and was a US Senate Page!

Saanvi
Lead Peer Advocate

I joined BLOOM365 after witnessing a culture of bullying and abuse in my surrounding community. I knew that the BLOOM365 curriculum and Peer Advocate Crew could be the first step to stopping this toxic culture by educating others about the root causes of interpersonal violence and also activating them to safely take action against these issues.

Hello! My name is Saanvi. I am from Arizona and I am a current senior at BASIS Peoria. I have been with BLOOM365 since the summer before my sophomore year of highschool. I started out as a Lead Peer Advocate, establishing the very first Peer Advocate Crew at my school, and am now also a Southwest Regional Director. I am passionate about helping other youth in my community and have been involved in not only BLOOM365 for several years, but also have been an active member of the City of Peoria Youth Advisory Board since I was a freshmen. In my free time I love working with animals and running.

Harshada N.
Lead Peer Advocate

I joined BLOOM365 because as I was growing up, the topic of domestic violence and sexual abuse had been often seen in marriages and ignored in my country. It was commonly seen in women, and although they would try to seek help, their best alternative was divorce. This had become such a common occurrence that many would often say “Just deal with it” or “Move on”. However, at a young age, I moved out of my country and came here to the United States. Not only was the culture completely different, but there were resources in which many could find help as an alternative. The first organization I’d ever seen at a high school level that offered these services to many was BLOOM365, which I took a great interest in helping those around me as I was unable to help the many great figures surrounding me when I was younger.

Hello, my name is Harshada. I’m a Lead Peer Advocate here at BLOOM365. As a PAC we try our hardest to create a comfortable community for those who need help and those who would like to help others. As part of this goal, we have had a great time creating fun and joyous memories! In my free time, I enjoy painting, playing the violin, writing, drawing, and singing which may project me as a person with artistic interests, however, in the future I envision myself going into the computer science field. Consequently, I enjoy coding and playing games on computers with my friends! From BLOOM365, I hope to gain various skills that will help me and others to improve the tough environment surrounding abuse.

Our Culture

The work we do is fun, hopeful and challenging. Our goal is to educate and activate 10% of young people across the U.S. by the year 2030. This Big Hairy Audacious Goal, or our #BHAG2030, requires everyone on our team to show up with grit, passion, focus and love.

We boldly have an end date in mind; it’s the day when domestic violence shelters, rape crisis centers and mass shooting drills at school are no longer needed. That is the day when our work will be complete. To reach this culture changing goal, we lean on each other for support and value those who invest in us and partner with us to #UprootAbuse.
